Early birds having refreshments
The event was held at the Microsoft auditorium, starting at 4pm sharp. Attendees started to flood in as early as 3.15pm. They were rewarded with some delicious refreshments and a great opportunity to interact with some of their counterparts in the industry. Soon, the stage was set for the event to begin.
Using his charm, Mr Nickson awed the crowd with his work and experience sharing. The topics he shared include his Hollywood experience, the key reasons for his return to Singapore, his company's business model and a little on the school he started, Egg Story Digital Arts Academy. By developing young talents, Mr Nickson hopes to impact the animations industry in a positive manner. Sneak previews for Egg Story's production, Kungfu Gecko, were also shown as a teaser. The movie is slated to be on the big screen in 2010.
Students with interest were also drawn to the event. Enthusiastically, a student from Hwa Chong Institution posted several questions to Mr Nickson, eagerly awaiting for his answer.
All good things have to come to an end. Just before the end of the event, Mr Ng Chong Khim, Digital Media Chapter Chairman, presented a token of appreciation to our distinguished speaker. Watch this space, as there will be more speakers of Mr Nickson's calibre to share their views.
